About Niove is the name of a fictional world created by Marie circa 2019, originally as worldbuilding project she could shove all her conlangs in. The world has undergone many renditions before arriving at its current iteration. Niove is a fictional world set in a post-post-apocalypse. Following the Great Apocalypse, the original inhabitants and polities of Niove would be cast asunder to rebuild their world from scratch. The tech level on Niove is roughly equivalent to our world's early 1800s, with some remnant tech dotted about the world from before the Great Apocalypse. In addition, Niove (and its extended universe) feature a magic system. The current year in the Fescintian Calendar, the most widely used calendar in Niove, is 2382. The world is in the throes of war, a new industrial revolution, colonialism, magic, and changing political winds. The name Niove is from the Classical Hoponya word: Niyove, literally meaning "spring flame."
